Project at a glance

 

NTFP Centre of Excellence : To cater to the need of NTFP and value-addition which has a tremendous scope of creating large scale in-situ employment for the rural people.

Income generation activities: Land based as well as service based for 1,250 SHGs and CCFC based 490 SHG; Entry point activities: 12 Models of Income Generation Activities have been developed under the project comprising viable combinations of Pisciculture, Piggery, Horticulture, Intergrated farming, Vermiculture, Duckery, incense stick, Edible bamboo shoots processing, charcoal making bamboo mat making, service based and other micro enterprises.

Development of Regrouped village: 16 regrouped villages to be covered. 2100 ha of rubber plantation; community infrastructure development; 16 clusters of satellite IGA activities.

Bio diversity conservation: Ecotourism development at 5 sites namely Trishna Wildlife Sanctury, Sepahijala, Rowa, Pilak and Sonamura; community reserve 5,000 ha with 40 EDCs; Survey and inventory of fauna and flora; Development of Bio-diversity Information system.

Infrastructure development: Central nurseries; NTFP Centre for Excellence; central timber depots; PMU/ DMU/ RMU

Training & capacity building: The Project will provide training/ capacity building to about 40,000 beneficiaries during the project period on such aspects that would empower them through building their capacity to undertake micro enterprises and become self-reliant.

Fire: The Economic Internal Internal Rate of Return (EIRR) of the project is estimated to be 18.7%. It consists of both benefits as well as indirect benefits from soil and water conservation measures under the project.
