Minutes of meeting Chaired by the
Hon’ble Minister for Forests to review the progress of
implementation of the Tripura JBIC Project held on the
Conference hall of Aranya Bhavan on the 15th April, 08 at 6 PM.
The Hon’ble Minister for Forests
has chaired a meeting on the 15th April, 08 at 6P.M to review
the progress of implementation of the Tripura JBIC Project where
Sh. A K Mangotra, Chief Secretary, Government of Tripura, Sh. R
P Tangwan, PCCF Tripura, Mr. S. Tsuji, Team leader of the
Project Management Consultants accompanied by Mr. K. Asano were
present. The list of the PMU Officers present is annexed at
Annexure I
2. The CEO & PD while welcoming the participants presented a
brief overview of the project including the actions so far taken
by the Project Management Unit. It was followed by a powerpoint
presentation on execution of various project components (Copy
annexed). The status of the Project and phasing out of the
Project components were also discussed (Copy annexed). The
discussion was held in the backdrop of the fact that the Annual
Plan of Operations (APO) for the FY 2008-09 is already approved
by the Executive Body in its meeting on the 10th April, 08 and
proposal for release of fund is moved to the Government. The
questions raised on various aspect of the Project were then
discussed and finally the following decisions emerged in the
meeting:
• The PMU shall verify the ToR and roadmap for carrying out the
Baseline data survey once again to ensure reflection of correct
and just status of people(JFMC members) for whom the Project has
been conceived.
• The Project Management Unit shall ensure that the grass root
level people/ JFMC members are aware of the Project components,
its goals and objective so that there is total transparency in
all levels of functioning of the Project.
• Past experience of the Organizations to be engaged shall have
to be considered critically before any engagement.
• The PMU may arrange training/ focus group discussion for the
Representative of the People/ PRI bodies so that appreciation of
the Project exists at all level of Government functioning.
