Minutes of the 7th of the Executive Body of the Tripura JICA Project held under the chairmanship of the PCCF, Tripura on the 8th May, 2009 at 5.00 p.m.

The 7th meeting of the Executive Body of the Tripura JICA project under the chairmanship of the PCCF, Tripura was held in the Conference Hall of Aranya Bhavan at Agartala on the 8th May, 2009 at 5 P.M. The list showing the names of the members and invitees present in the meeting and those who are absent is appended at appendix-I.
The discussion centered on two specific issues namely,
i) Installation of energy saving device in the PMU building.
ii) Installation of water supply system, drawl and distribution of water in the PMU building including water filtration system
2. The Tripura JICA Project has initiated construction of the PMU building at FTI Complex at Hatipara and its subsidiary units at Kumarghat and Udaipur respectively by way of awarding the work to the NPCC Ltd. and on this day the Member-Secretary through a power point presentation apprised the members about the progress of construction of PMU buildings and a copy of the same is appended at appendix-II.
3. The Executive Body prior to holding this meeting had requested the Power Department and the Department of Water Supply & Sanitation (DWS) to depute representative conversant with the issue to attend the meeting and help in deciding the right kind of device which could be installed in the PMU building to enhance the energy efficiency, and to reduce the expenditure in the long run. The Sr. Manager, NPCC Ltd. was also requested to come out with their views and the same was explained by him accordingly.
4. The Representative of the Power Department informed that there exist umpteen devices which are marked as the energy saving device by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency and a copy of the list showing type and make shall be provided by him shortly. The Representative of the DWS informed the house that water pump machine including filtration system which has already been installed by the Department in the Forest Training Institute Complex at Hatipara is sufficiently rated and is capable of supplying the required amount of water of the PMU building and rather presently its full potential is not being utilized ans so there is no need to have any separate water pump machine for the PMU building. The underground source of water is also vast to meet the future requirement. The Sr. Manager, NPCC Ltd. through power point presentation discussed about the energy efficiency and how the issue is proposed to be addressed.
5. The following decisions emerged in the meeting,
1) The Sr. Manager, NPCC Ltd. shall submit a formal proposal giving the cost benefit analysis towards installation of energy saving device in the PMU building.
2) Sh. N. C. Das, AGM, Tripura State Electricity Corporation shall provide the list showing the makes of the energy saving device.
3) Sh. Debnath representing the DWS shall provide information on the installed capacity of the water pump machine which is presently in use in the FTI complex at Hatipara so that a decision in this regard can be considered at the earliest.
6. The Member Secretary, Executive Body also apprised about the status of reimbursement of fund by the JICA during FY 2008-09. He informed that all the claims preferred by the PMU for reimbursement against utilization of fund have been accepted by the JICA and they have disbursed the amount in full.
