Pursuant to the notification issued under no.F.38(1)-GA(P&T)/97(L) dated 2nd April,07of the GA(P&T) Department read with the notification no. F. 22-2/For-JBIC/Adm-07/Estt/8190-207 dated 13-6-07of the Project Management Unit, JBIC Project, the undersigned in terms of the powers conferred upon him as per the provisions of the Bye Laws hereby appoints,

1. Sh. D K Sharma IFS, Joint Project Director (P&I) as the Director of the NTFP Centre of Excellence, Tripura. Agartala.
2. Mrs. Deepa D Nair IFS Dy .Project Director (HRD & Trg.) as the Dy. Director of the NTFP Centre of Excellence, Tripura, Agartala.

II. The job of the Director & Joint Director of the NTFP Centre of Excellence, Tripura entails the following:

• To prepare, generate and manage the database of the NTFP resources of the Region.
• To promote & facilitate the NTFP resources as a means of livelihood of the people of the region.
• To arrange training of the forest fringe dwellers in farming, cultivation and management of the NTFP and Medicinal Plant resources. To develop appropriate technology for value addition, marketing of the resources including the handicraft items of the region.
• To develop an environment for entrepreneurship on the cane & bamboo resources of the Region.
• To enhance capacity building for harnessing the biodiversity richness of the region.

This notification shall take immediate effect.
